Seismologist, PI, USGS
David is an earthquake and volcano seismologist who specializes in understanding earthquake swarms in volcanic areas (including Yellowstone) and tectonic tremor in subduction zones and the San Andreas Fault. He has a B.A. from Whitman College in mathematics-physics and a Ph.D in geophysics from Stanford University. David has been a research scientist at the USGS in Menlo Park, California since 2008, and a member of the Yellowstone and California Volcano Observatories since 2010.
