Geophysicist, LSU
Karen is a solid earth geophysicist who specializes in the measurement and modeling of crustal deformation processes, with particular emphasis on questions related to seismic and volcanic hazards. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Geophysics from Texas A&M University, and a Doctoral degree in Geophysics from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. She has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Louisiana State University since 2013, and has been working on crustal deformation signals in the Yellowstone area since 2011.
