Christie Cino

Graduate Student, U. Minnesota

My name is Christie Cino, and I am a current graduate student at University of Minnesota being advised by Dr. Bill Seyfried. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Geology with Honors from Stony Brook University in New York. My research interests fall within the realm of aqueous geochemistry, with an emphasis on organics. My undergraduate thesis consisted of constraining the chemistry and mineralogy of the Burns Formation, Meridiani Planum, Mars in search for past aqueous activity as an indicator of possible previous habitation. At UMN, the focus of my research will be on the organics of hydrothermal vent systems in Yellowstone Lake.
